In-patient massage is coming to Virginia Hospital Center!

In addition to offering massage therapy services in our treatment center, we are also developing an inpatient massage program. Therapists are being credentialled by the hospital to see patients in their rooms. Bedside massage is now available for new moms and will soon be offered to other hospital patients as well. Preliminary studies indicate that massage therapy can result in greater patient comfort and shorter hospital stays, contributing to increased patient satisfaction with their hospital experience, as well as overall cost savings.

Massage in hospital settings is nothing new. It is an extension of what nurses used to do, but no longer have time to do as a result of increased duties and technology. Touch therapists in the hospital setting administer massage with proper adaptations to accommodate most medical conditions.
